Facebook Messenger 2.2: at the Web Summit 2017 the brand explains to us why it is important Stan Chudnovsky of Facebook, speaking at one of the speeches at the Web Summit 2017 , says that the sky is the limit for Facebook Messenger 2.2, as it manages to provide customer support tools to companies directly on websites. Facebook wants to make it easier for brands to use Messenger for customer service, as it appears to provide a more efficient alternative to call centers. The American company is introducing a money transfer tool for the British market and a new chat plugin that will allow brands to directly embed a customer support chatbot on their website.
The new services are part of the launch of Facebook Messenger 2.2 and also include Find Your Phone Number the ability to start sending sponsored messages to people. There will be additional metrics for monitoring Messenger performance, as Facebook is opening up its business development tools to new languages, including French, Portuguese and German. Facebook Messenger 2.2: interview at the 2017 web summit On November 7, during an interview at the Web Summit in Lisbon, Facebook Messenger Head Stan Chudnovsky said that “the sky is the limit” when it comes to transforming the chat platform into a customer support tool.
He believes consumers are tired of traditional ways to make a complaint or question about products and are looking for a better way to interact with companies. Chudnovsky explained: “At the moment, you have to call someone then press “one” and again press “three” and then press “four” while being put on hold and put on hold multiple times; it is something very annoying for millions of people. And again he adds: “The phone model is no longer as efficient whereas it is much more efficient for them to be on Facebook Messenger. The sky is truly the limit in terms of how big this can get.” Brands such as Argos, Aviva and Air France are already signed up to Messenger and offer a customer support chatbot.
